Tuition and fees at MiraCosta College

When it comes to study abroad, tuitions and fees are really important so it is essential for you to understand them.

At MiraCosta College, the price of a program can be different from one another. There is no exact number of classes to take for your program. Some programs might require more units that other.  Most Associate Degree programs can be completed in 5 semesters (2 and 1/2 years.)

At MiraCosta, you pay per unit you are taking. Most of the time, a class is 3 units and one unit is $280 in spring 2018. The minimum requirement for an international student is to take a minimum of 12 units per semester. You can expect to pay $280 x 12units = $3400 tuition per semester and $6800 of tuition per year.  An associate degree is a minimum of  60 units. You can also check here the estimated cost of attendance.

The estimated cost of Attendance is an estimation of the cost of life, it does not mean you will spend exactly the same amount as shown.

Taking an online class, good or nah

Are you thinking about taking an online class next semester? Taking an online class at MiraCosta as an International Student is totally possible. The only limitation is that you can’t take more than 3 units online class per semester.

Are you hesitating taking one?

I already took many online classes and here list of things to consider.

  • You have to have access to a computer: your own laptop or the library’s computers! Be familiar with a platform (Blackboard) is a must.

  • Be organized and willing to learn, it is easy to fell behind… it requires a lot of self motivation.
  •  You are free to decide when it’s time to work and you can get comfortable at home or outside. It is a lot of flexibility.
  • You don’t get to meet your classmates, your teacher or have a study group.
  • You can communicate with your teacher by email .. and expect a fast answer.

  • It is a lot of reading.
  • And a lot of writing.
  • But I least you don’t loose time in transportation.
