Halloween Party 2019

Each year, the International Club along with other student clubs host a big Halloween party on campus It was so much fun and a good opportunity to make new friends!

First, let’s learn about what halloween is in case you’ve never heard of it nor got to experience it in your culture.

Halloween is a holiday celebrated every year on October 31, it was originally from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. Halloween has been modernized now as more of a fun family activity where kids are able to receive candy and treats from their neighbors.

The highlights of this party were the haunted house, costume contest, and dance time! Sometimes pictures are worth a thousand words, so here are some pictures of the party, take a look at our amazing students’ costumes!

And of course, there are always behind the scenes of a party. Lots of people volunteered to set up the party and make decorations and cleaned it up afterwards. And volunteering at the school’s event is definitely one of a few good ways to earn volunteer hours for your transfer resume or your class!

🎃MiraCosta college Halloween Party🎃

MiraCosta College seasonal Halloween party.

Halloween is a popular activity in the fall. This year our MiraCosta halloween party was sponsored by the International Club and other student groups.  It was held in the Student Center including the cafeteria and several rooms.

What we had in the party?

  • We got food drinks! pizza, donut, salad and cold drinks!
  • Dance performance from Kpop club.
  • DJ music.
  • Minigames!
  • Terrifying haunted house
  • Costume contest. Winner will receive worth 100$ value prize!

The party wearing costume is not mandatory, we have many students just hang around and enjoy the atmosphere too. The admission is free, which is favorable for our pocket. The party was opened for every student and their friends, so we had more than 50 people in the party. I really enjoyed the haunted house. The staffs worked hard to decorate the the rooms, student got scared one after another.

MiraCosta is not only focus on education, but also provide the opportunity to interacting with other student. Think that is really important to international student because spending time and talking with other people help international student to improve their English as well as communication skills.
